Hartford Veterans announce dignitaries for Memorial Day ceremony

The Memorial Day ceremony in the City of Hartford is scheduled to begin around 10:30 a.m. following Hartford's Memorial Day Parade at 10 a.m.

This year's guest speaker is Kurt Rusch, Washington County Veterans Service Officer. He is an Iraq War Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. and was involved in the initial invasion of Iraq - serving in the reserves out of Green Bay. 

Master of Ceremonies will be Erin Mendez, C.W.2 of the Wisconsin National Guard. It's quite fitting, since the Hartford Unit is presently deployed for the Iran War.

The Veterans chose Franklin Tennis as the Honorary Parade Marshall. Tennis enlisted in the Army on May 12, 1954 and served in Japan. He later enlisted in the Air Force and served Stateside. Tennis has been a proud member of the American Legion for 43 years and served as Membership Chairman. 

The Hartford Community Chorus and the Hartford City Band will perform.

The City of Hartford Memorial Day ceremony will be broadcast live on 104.9 WTKM at 10:30 a.m.
