City of Hartford's Fourth of July celebrations

The Fourth of July is always special in the City of Hartford.

"It's a day we look forward to," says Hartford City Administrator Steve Volkert. "We offer different events so families can stay in town and have a great time."

The Hartford Farmers Market opens at 8 a.m. at Jordan Park, located at 65 N. Rural Street in the City of Hartford.

The Fourth of July Parade steps off at 2 p.m. and run travel south down Main Street, ending near Lincoln Elementary. The Mill reminds parade goers that hot and humid temperatures are expected, so they will have some water in coolers for the parade entrants while they are waiting to step off.

One of Hartford's own is performing at 5:30 p.m. at Centennial Park for a free concert in the park before the fireworks at Independence Park. The Joshua Lubbert concert is free.

The fireworks show begins at dusk.
