Man arrested in Menomonee Falls after gunshots

Menomonee Falls Police Department responded to a report of a possible crash and shots fired in the area of Maple Road and Christman Road, in the Village of Menomonee Falls on Friday, July 17 at 11:23 p.m.

Investigation of this matter revealed that a road rage incident originated in the area of County Line Road and Bancroft Drive. The involved vehicles eventually traveled south on Maple Road, and gunshots were fired from the pursued vehicle that struck the victim's vehicle and a nearby residence.

The operator of the pursuing vehicle sustained a significant non-life-threatening eye injury from gunfire debris and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Investigation suggests the suspect was not known to the victim.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department arrested Samuel L Kendall, of Menomonee Falls, on Saturday, July 18 for this offense.

The Waukesha County District Attorney has charged Kendall with the following offenses:

2 Counts First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Dangerous Weapon

2 Counts Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Use of a Dangerous Weapon

2 Counts Criminal Damage to Property, Use of a Dangerous Weapon

1 Count Possession of Improvised Explosives

This investigation included several search warrants that were executed. The suspect is currently an inmate at the Waukesha County Jail, with a bond set at $250,000.

The Menomonee Falls Police Department was assisted by the FBI-Milwaukee, Waukesha County Sheriff's Department, Germantown Police Department and the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department.
