The Iron Ridge Fire Department Picnic begins Thursday, August 6 and runs through Sunday, August 9. It will be held at the Iron Ridge Fireman’s Park.
On Thursday, a free corn roast begins at 5 p.m. and a free fireworks show starts at dusk.
Iron Ridge Fire Chief Jason Keller told WTKM what the picnic means to the department.
"This is our largest fundraiser of the year. It makes up a pretty significant amount of our income. It allows us to not have to ask for increases in rates from the taxpayers. When individuals come out and support our picnic, they are directly supporting the operations of our department. We are a privately owned department. That money is regulated by us. Our purchases and decisions are made by us."
The fish fry begins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 7.
Saturday, August 8 will be busy with cornhole, volleyball and softball tournaments.
Sunday’s parade steps off at 11 a.m.
