The Allenton American Legion Post 483 Picnic begins this Friday, August 14 and runs through the weekend.

Melissa Inderdahl serves as the entertainment and promotions chair for the event. She told WTKM that a farm in Hartford will provide the beef for a special giveaway. 

"We are giving away two meat raffle baskets. This beef is from Freedom View Acres, a local Veteran and family owned farm located in Hartford."  

A fish fry begins at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and a softball tournament is scheduled for Saturday, August 15.

Sunday’s parade steps off at 11:30 a.m. with kid’s games going on all afternoon at the park in Allenton.
