There are currently 10,125 Century Farms in Wisconsin. Three years ago, there were 9,982.
The century milestone is 100 years of continuous family ownership.
A farm in Dodge County was originally purchased in October, of 1925 by the Strohschein family. Alan Strohschein shares some history of the farm.
"I did have a sign made a number of years ago. We called Strohschein's Pine Grove Farm. Our father and uncle, and others planted a grove of pine trees back in the nineteen-fifties, which have grown-up on some of the wasteland on the farm. We don't have a specific name for the farm."
The Strohschein family's Pine Grove Farm is proud to be in Dodge County.
Today, brothers Alan and Mark run the farm, preserving a family history, including managing the 94-acre property which made it through the Great Depression and World War II.
