The Dodge County Fair is back for an exciting year. The annual event runs from Wednesday, August 19 to Sunday, August 23 at the Dodge County Fairgrounds, in Beaver Dam.

"The Dodge County Fair is a stockholder-owned fair," according to Dodge County Fair Association Treasurer Sharon Keil. "The county does not do the planning on it, or pay for the fair. What we do, is try and give evryone a good show and make you want to come to the fair. That way, we can make improvements on the grounds." 

There are nine members on the fair board and they work year-round to make it a memorable experience.

Wednesday is a busy day of judging in the Open Class Building, Farm Progress Arena, Youth Building, Sheep Barn and at the Grandstand. The Badger State Tractor Pullers begin at 7 p.m. at the Grandstand.

The Meat Animal Sale in the Farm Progress Arena is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Thursday.

Country music singer-songwriter Phil Vassar performs Thursday evening, at 8 p.m. at the Grandstand.

"This is our third time having Phil Vassar," said Keil. "He does a tremendous job of entertaining."

Country music singer Vincent Mason joins a talented lineup on Friday night, at 8 p.m.

One of the highlights on Saturday is the horse pull, in the Grandstand at 9 a.m. It will be followed by the tractor pull, at 12 p.m. The Small Animal Auction begins at 4 p.m. in the Farm Progress Arena.

Sunday's smash 'em up demolition derby starts at 3 p.m.
