The Allenton Legion Picnic begins on Friday, August 14 and runs through the weekend to Sunday, August 16.

Friday's fish fry begins at 4:30 p.m. Stetsin and Lace will perform at 8:30 p.m. Friday night. 

The 1st Brigade Band out of Watertown will perform over the weekend.

Allenton American Legion Post 483 member Ron Naab told WTKM that the wagon used during parades, where band members ride and play, was built in 1858.

"That wagon was restored and they continue to use it. They play Civil War instruments and wear Civil War garb. We have our concert in the park after Sunday's parade, so the five bands in the parade will perform. The First Brigade Civil War Band will present a little history note about the Civil War between songs."                                               

Sunday’s parade, on August 16 steps off at 11:30 a.m. which will be followed by kid’s games in the park, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Allenton.
