The Veterans – Field Day’s Barbecue and Benefit, with all the proceeds used to benefit Semper Fi and America’s Fund, is happening Saturday, August 22 at 10 a.m.
It will take place at Natures Way Game Farm in Neosho, at N2999 Washington Road.
John Deatsick, of Neosho, is the owner of Natures Way Game Farm and is the organizer, known for his work with local veteran events.
"This is our third annual benefit. It's grown every year and it gets some of our disabled Vets in the outdoors for a day of trap shooting and pheasant hunting."
The event on August 22 includes an archery course, rifle range and sporting clays.
Sam Tickle is a 12-year Veteran of the Navy and Marine Corps. He serves as the senior director of sports for Semper Fi and America’s Fund.
"Our goal is to care for our nation's critically wounded, ill or injured service members, Veterans and families. We do that through our healing program, transitional assistance program which helps with education and jobs. And our integrated wellness program, which covers their recovery through sports."
They have been making a difference since 2004 and cover 170 grants each day, in support. All of the money being raised goes directly to the service members.
It’s a complimentary event and supports a great cause.
