Bicyclist injured in Portland

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury crash that involved a bicycle and motor vehicle on county road I in the town of Portland Monday night, September 7 at 7:10 p.m. 

The initial investigation showed that a motor vehicle, operated by a 46-year-old woman from Waterloo was traveling south on County Road I, when it struck a southbound bicycle which was being ridden by a 72 year old man from Waterloo.  

The bicyclist was injured as a result of the accident and was transported by Waterloo EMS to UW Hospital in Madison. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The operator of the motor vehicle was not injured.

The Waterloo Police Department and Waterloo EMS assisted. It’s under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
