Hartford Electric extended its long-term power supply contract with WPPI Energy through 2073. This gives WPPI the ability to continue planning and investing in long-term generation and transmission resources. It will help keep power costs competitive and provide greater rate stability for its members.

WPPI has been a partner for Hartford Electric since 1980. Being part of WPPI gives Hartford Electric access to a diverse and cost-effective power supply that they could not secure on their own. The partnership is a major reason Hartford has been able to maintain competitive electric rates over the years.

City of Hartford Director of Utilities Brian Rhodes delivered Hartford’s signed contract extension to WPPI President and CEO Mike Peters. The continued partnership is a positive move and will have a positive impact, according to City of Hartford officials.
