National POW/MIA Recognition Day is Friday, September 18.

It's observed each year on the third Friday of September.

National POW/MIA Day honors American military service members who were prisoners of war or remain missing in action.

It covers all branches of service and accounts for personnel from all past U.S. conflicts.

The Avenue of Flags are proudly flying high on Friday, September 18 in honor of National POW/MIA Day. Each flag has a Veteran’s name embroidered and the war they fought in at Sawyer Park, 111 Branch Street in the City of Hartford.
