Record-breaking Pink Pumpkin Run

It was a record-breaking day on Saturday, October 3 in downtown Hartford. The Pink Pumpkin Run brought 876 people down to take part in an empowering day. The Pink Pumpkin Run was created 12 years ago with one goal in mind - to support local residents and families affected by breast cancer in a meaningful way.

Why do so many people participate?

"I think it just builds, support on support," according to Pink Pumpkin Run Board of Directors Vice President Carly Shipley. "One person gets diagnosed and an army comes for that person. They don't just come by themselves, they come with their entire family. It's so amazing to see all of the support. Everybody just having each other's back."

They believe no one should face breast cancer alone.

Through passion and dedication, this event has grown year after year, bringing people together.

The 5k run and 2-mile walk was just the start of a special day. The kid's dash entertained a large crowd along Main Street, as craft vendors lined up along with food trucks and live music.

They came for the run and stayed for the fun, supporting a great cause for Washington and Dodge counties.
