Gena Biertzer named chief executive officer of the Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center

The Agricultural and Industrial Society, operator of the Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center, is pleased to announce the appointment of Gena Biertzer as its new chief executive officer. Biertzer started on October 5.

Biertzer brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in nonprofit management, business operations, marketing, events, and community engagement. Most recently, she served as General Manager of St. Vincent de Paul of Washington County, overseeing multi-site operations and a team of more than 120 employees.

Her deep roots in Washington County also include serving as Executive Director of the Downtown West Bend Association and owning BG Decal & Apparel in West Bend. Throughout her career, Biertzer has worked closely with local businesses, nonprofit organizations, community leaders, volunteers, and sponsors to strengthen organizations and build community partnerships.

“We are excited to welcome Gena to the Washington County Fair Park,” said AIS Board President Jack Rettler in a news release. “Her leadership experience, strong community relationships, and passion for Washington County will be tremendous assets as we continue to move the organization forward.”

Biertzer looks forward to building upon the Fair Park’s strong foundation while expanding its role as a year-round community destination.

"I am grateful for the opportunity to become part of it. I look forward to building on the success of the Fair Park, strengthening our community partnerships."

The Washington County Fair Park & Conference Center is home to the Washington County Fair and hosts events, conferences, agricultural programs, trade shows, and community gatherings throughout the year.
