Record year for the Hartford Food Pantry

Category: Local News

Food insecurity levels in Wisconsin are on the rise. Food pantry services across the state and nationwide are experiencing record high demand.

It's the same story for the Hartford Food Pantry.

"It's a record setting year again, serving the community with the number of families that we are serving," according to Hartford Food Pantry Board President Jason Wix.

The Hartford Food Pantry served 2,074 people in 2024, which included 842 families. By the end of September of this year, they served 3,798 people, with 1,362 families.

"It has really increased," said Wix. "With that increase comes the increase in how much we are spending for food and how much food is going out."

The biggest need of the Hartford Food Pantry is boxes of cereal and hearty soups.

Donations are accepted at their location, 24 N. Johnson Street in the City of Hartford.

They are open on Tuesdays, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The hours for Thursdays are 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
