Village of Slinger President Scott Stortz will not run for re-election.

In a letter to the residents of Slinger, which was posted on Facebook, Stortz made the formal announcement.

"After many months of consideration, and well in advance of the December deadline to officially declare non-candidacy to rerun as your Village President, I'm choosing to make this formal announcement in order to give as much time as possible for as many others to consider running for this very important position."

Stortz went on to say that it has been an honor to serve over the last five and a half years.
