58th home for Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge Counties

Category: Local News

Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge Counties broke ground on their 58th home on South University Avenue, in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, October 21.

It's the beginning of the building process for Habitat for Humanity.

Director of Development Amber Ruch told WTKM that it's all about providing the opportunity for homeownership.

"It represents hope with owning a home. Families that take part in Habitat’s homeownership program purchase their homes through no-profit, no-interest mortgages. They also contribute sweat equity hours."

The sweat equity involves helping with the construction of the new home and also includes the chance to volunteer.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. They believe in the power of a community coming together to build dreams into reality.
