Certainly one of the highlights this year at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School is a state championship in chess.

The KML Chess team earned the Division 1 state title at the Wisconsin Scholastic Chess Championship. The Chargers were seeded eighth out of 12 teams. Challenging wins were against Wisconsin Lutheran, Muskego, and the impressive Chesterton Academy Green Bay for the Division 1 championship.

The Chargers chess team won the Division 2 state championships in 2023 and 2024.
