The Lourdes Academy on the Water Wrestling Classic was held at the Kolf Sports Center, on the UW Oshkosh campus on Monday, December 29 to Tuesday, December 30 last year. Many area wrestlers had strong performances.
Hortonville earned the team title, out of over 70 teams, and many state-ranked wrestlers. The Kewaskum High School boys wrestling team finished in fourth place.
Two champions were recognized from Kewaskum, including Ethan Immel (144) and Bryston Scoles (157). Brayden Loehr (150) earned third place.
Four Hartford Union High School wrestlers were in the hunt for podium finishes after the first day. The Orioles' Ayden Grulke (285) earned his 150th career win in his semi-final match, and battled his way to an individual champion.
Leading the West Bend team was Brandon Much (175) with 11th place, Colin Weber (106) in third and Jack Lubinski (113) in first while earning his 100th varsity win as a junior.
Watertown junior Bryson Busler (132) earned a third place finish, while senior Joe Logan grappled for his 100th career win.
