It’s a busy time of the year with winter sports. Hartford Union High School Superintendent Dr. Stacy Gahan and Athletics and Activities Director Scott Helms joined WTKM for an update on Wednesday, February 18.

Helms shared some good news regarding their ski and snowboarding team, and the Orioles' cheer team.

"Ski and snowboarding, they came back as state champs last weekend for the third year in a row. Last weekend, we also hosted the state prelims for cheer at Hartford. We had close to ninety teams come through from around the state. It was a busy day. Our cheer team qualified and will head up to state in Green Bay."

Over 1,300 students cheered during the competition.

Hartford Union High School’s girls basketball team play Thursday night, February 19 at Nicolet, for their final conference game of the season. If they win, the Orioles will earn at least a share of the North Shore Conference Championship for the third year in a row.

More good news for the girls wrestling team, according to Helms.

"We saw conference championships from the girls wrestling program. They won it as a team, as well as seven individual champs."
