United Way of Washington County's Emerging Leaders hosts its ninth annual golf outing on Wednesday, September 16 bringing together nearly 120 golfers and raising more than $58,000 to support local community initiatives and programs across Washington County.
“We couldn’t be more excited about this year’s response,” said Angela Hartwell, Emerging Leaders and golf outing co-chair in a press release. “Selling out early and surpassing last year’s golfer registration shows just how much support and enthusiasm there is for this event. We’re very appreciative of our golfers, sponsors and volunteers for making it such a success.”
Funds raised through the golf outing support United Way's broader mission as a community collaborator — convening local nonprofits, coordinating resources, and investing in local initiatives and programs that address Washington County's most pressing needs across health, youth opportunity and financial security.
The outing, held at the Washington County golf course, has become the Emerging Leaders signature fundraising event and a hallmark of the group’s dedication to leadership development, volunteerism and community investment.
“What started as a small idea nine years ago is now a demonstration of what’s possible when people come together,” said Sarah Stadler, United Way campaign co-chair in a press release. “Behind every dollar raised is a volunteer, sponsor or golfer who believes in what we’re building together.”
United Way partner agencies were on the course with hole activities and to raise awareness with the golfers about their programs.
“Every challenge facing Washington County is connected,” said Amanda Novotny, golf outing co-chair in a press release. “Having our nonprofit partners with us is a reminder that this event is about more than just golf; it’s about connecting people and coming together as a community.”
Major sponsors of the event included West Bend Insurance, Kettle Moraine YMCA, Turtle Creek Homes, Broan NuTone, Manitou Group, Concept 2 Solution, R&R Insurance and JP Cullen.
Since its founding, Emerging Leaders has given young professionals across Washington County hands-on opportunities to lead, serve, and grow, with many alumni going on to take on larger leadership roles within their workplaces and local nonprofits, including United Way.
