Ethan Hoffmann is state bound, again

Hartford Union High School senior tennis player Ethan Hoffmann is Hartford’s first-ever four-time state qualifier. He got there with a 6-0, 6-0 win in a match against Fond du Lac.

Ethan told WTKM about his experience at state last season.

"Last year at state, I played this guy who was a top seed in the state also. I felt like I could have played more consistent to get a win. At state, it's intense with so many people watching you with your family and friends."

The WIAA Boys State Tennis Tournaments are held at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin, in Madison. The individual tournament runs from Thursday, June 4 to Saturday, June 6.

All of the hours on the tennis court and all of the tournaments through the years landed him in the record books. Hoffmann won his 100th career high school varsity match on Saturday, May 2 in convincing fashion, 6-0, 6-0 in a match with West Bend East. He's the first tennis player in the history of the program, boys or girls, at Hartford Union High School to reach the milestone.
